Spring 2020 – Students are working and learning!
As the nice weather approaches, construction is in full swing, production continues in many areas of our local economy and business are looking for employees. Many of our Grads have applied to post secondary institutions, some are looking for great employers and some are planning adventure (local). The Grade 11 students are busy blending school, part time jobs and recreation to fill their weeks. In this shortened version of the Parents’ Guide to Career Programs, you will see some job postings, some opportunities and a few reminders for all. As always, please feel free to contact our school to find out more!

Students will be selecting courses for the 2021-22 school year during the last week of February and the first week of March. These are incredibly important decisions, and in an effort to ensure students and families have all of the information well in advance, please check out the “Course Selection” page on our website for more information.
If you have missed out on selecting your courses, please contact one of our counsellors to provide them with a list of your requested courses: Dave Van Bergeyk (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Tanya Harrington (email@example.com).
A virtual leadership event for Shuswap Youth
The relaunch of the Shuswap Youth Launch leadership day will be on Thursday, February 25th, 2021, from 9:45 – 12:30pm. Originally planned for April 2020, and postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this event has been created by youth to inspire and empower their peers throughout the Shuswap to think outside the box, encourage inclusive thinking, promote mental well-being, build healthy relationships and follow their dreams.
The virtual 3.5 hour event will be delivered via Zoom with a powerhouse lineup of guest speakers and interactive activities – and will be offered at no charge to participants – however tickets must be reserved through Eventbrite. The speakers and topics are tailored to youth aged 13 – 18, but the invite is open to anyone interested in joining in.
